How It Works

From Rope Tension to Cloud Dashboard in Milliseconds

Rope Deflection Sensing

The load cell body is clamped onto the hoist rope between two fixed sheaves. As rope tension rises with the lifted load, the cell deflects and its internal strain gauges register the change.

Signal Transmission

A 4–20 mA or Modbus RTU signal is continuously transmitted to the IntelliKran PLC analogue or serial input. Cable screening and twisted-pair wiring reject electrical noise from VFDs and contactors.

PLC Processing & Action

The PLC converts the signal to engineering units, logs every reading with a timestamp, triggers overload alarms when the threshold is exceeded, and pushes data to the IntelliKran cloud dashboard in real time.

Designed Around Crane Safety Standards

The load cell is designed to complement existing mechanical safe-load indicators (SLI) and is not intended as a standalone safety device. When integrated with the IntelliKran PLC, the system provides a redundant electronic load check, real-time operator alerts on the cab display and web dashboard, audible/visual alarm relay outputs, and a tamper-evident digital load log — all supporting compliance with FEM, ISO 4301, ASME B30, and EN 13001 crane design standards.
